Drow soldiers marching

A column of Drow Soldiers -acolytes from the Cult of Negeé- of the Drow state of Negeémiliel, are marching.

The Hegemony of Negeémiliel over other drow city states in the underworld of Kazrrad, or other powers from other species -as the Dwarfs, the infamous dragon-kin of Draak Hargs, Black orcs and cave Goblins, along with other beings that lurk deeper in the caves of Kazrrad.-

To mantain their superiority, is needed for Negeémiliel to keep open trade routes to the surface -Negeémiliel is anyway in the upper levels, as most of the drow cities- because with their large population -270.000 souls- they need from the lands they have conquered in the surface, and the trade, to import the grain needed for such a large population, unable to live in such concentration with only underworld resources:

-The products from grains and crops are far better to feed the population than fungus, mushrooms that grow in the underworld, or the drow "farm", or the blind fishes of the underworld lakes.

The constant and forced contact with the surface is one of the main reasons the drow have suffered less changes, as there are rumors that have happened to creatures of the lower levels, who have lurked in the dark for generations.

There, a colum of warriors go throught a digged tunnel -more likely by either Goblins, Orcs or the same Drow, as the "real Kazrrad" was galleries perfectly digged halls and corridors, by an unknow specie in a forgotten past- to be placed in duties in the borders of the Negeémiliel Drow Empire, to keep had bay the incursions of Orcs and Goblins, or maybe do raids for slaves, to be detached to an outpost, or keep the trade routes secure.

These acolytes of Negeé, tutelar godess of the city, wear the black capes for missions to the surface, issued as well to border forces, and some have they battle armors, or still had their ceremonial armor -wich is rather impractical for real battles-

After the Assessination of the High Sorceress of the Temple of Doom, the surviving garrison, as a punishment, where imprisoned for two weeks, before they where demoted, and from their duty in Negeémiliel, the capitol of the Empire, near political and economical influence, riches and a less dangerous work, they where demoted to serve in the borders of the empire, to one of the many outposts that link Negeémiliel to the markets of the surface.
