Siege of Bournais, Third War of the Power:

The Human city of Bournais, in the Kingdom of Huncle, had fallen in the previous year to the Dark Legion, with it's population massacred by the ozcuras routiers of Duke Airym the Pyromaniacal, Bazrrod demon commander, who used it as a base for further raiding operations against Huncle.

The Holy Sargonic Emperor gathered an Imperial Army -compossed largely of Botanic and Tardic mercenaries- and the next autumn laid siege to the city:

While starving off the defenders, the Hannian and Dumian mercenaries, siege engineers, used all sorts of siege engines to weaen the defenses:

But as his forces starved out and died out of hunger and diseases in the sieged city, Airym the Pyromaniacal began to produce in the forges of the city defenders that didn't get sick or needed food: warforged pixerians.

Reeplacing the casualties of the siege with Warforged, Airym will use them to launch raids against the possitions of the siegers: however, this all will be only delatory tactics before the final fall of Bournais, returning to human hands.

In the 2510 a.a.H are some of the earliiest known aelian pictures of a gun, appearing in manuscropts by Walter Lemaitrose. By the 2550, it was noted by some poets and chronists that the presence of cannons on the battlefield was rather common.

Early artillery played a limited role in the wars of the 2600's, but by the time of the Third War of the Power (2633-2675 a.a.H), it will become more and more important -however it wouldn't be until the post-cataclysm aiers that will come to be indispensable-

Gunpowder, and gunpowder weapons originated in the Holy City of Eden -or the ruins-, being part of the Tekno-loki human magic, retrieved in the Holy Wars and the War of the Lost Cities, but will take long to be understood and developed, being curtailed the studies due religious reasons that often difficulted to work with Tekno-loki.

Humans will be the main users of gunpowder, as an ancient human art, but there will be soon diffusion of it to dwarves, who became masters at it, and to a lesser degree to elves and demons, the later who shared some of their knowledge with orcs and goblins: however as said, development of gunpowder as a key element of warfare will only come after the Third War of the Power in post-cataclysm Aiers, as largelly a human monopoly.
