Description

3235, Southern plains of Snowbord Valley, Münzen-Felcheland War.

A Münzen tank commander surveys the damages done by Nutk partisans to a column in the "death road".

The war fought between Felcheland and Münzen was for the Valley of Snowbord: both colonies of the Sueccian Empire in the Stornkold archipielago, after their independce due diferences in the local oligarchies, rather than a single nation, the Sueccian colony of stornkold was divided in two independent nations:

Münzen in the east, with a more dense population, and Felcheland in the West. Between them, where extense lands -as Zimotka valley, Spramuska island, Snowbord and Greedsvalley- that both states claimed, but in a practical way, where only inhabited by the nutkian tribesmen.

For long, due the lack of an economical interest, while there where some meetings to delimitate the national borders, these meetings didn't reached a conclusion. The great global economical crisis of these years hit as well very hardly both nations.

So when later, when was discovered gold in Snowbord, suddendly both Felcheland and Münzen where decided to claim these lands.

While at first was tried to get a diplomatic solution, more and more adventurers ventured and settled in Snowbord, mining gold: Gold that both Felcheland and Münzen desperately needed, as they saw it as a solution to their economical needs.

Finally, Münzen advanced with their army into Snowbord, claiming they where only sending police forces to defend münzen miners who had been attacked by Nutkian tribesmen.

Felcheland declared war on Münzen, and began the Münzen-Felcheland war.

The war, that will last less than a year, will be fought between Münzen, against Felcheland and the nutkian tribes of Snowbord. During the course of it, there would support Münzen an ignacian expeditionary force, and later, a Ruhenian force.

During the war, Münzen movilized about 52.000 men (and as well, about 400 Ignacian, and 12.000 ruhenian at the end of the war), while Felcheland movilized about 27.000 men (and the Nutkian tribes, some 7.000 more fighters).

When the war ended, about 31.000 people had died, and neither Münzen or Felcheland received the valley of Snowbord, who instead will become an independent Nutk state, Anuchia -who months later, will annex Felcheland-.

When the war begun, both sides had obsolete, minimal armies due the economical crisis, but during the course of it, as they seized the gold mines, Münzen was more capable of adquiring armament -often obsolete pieces, almost literally, bought their weight in gold-.

The 27 tanks, that compossed all the armored forces of Münzen, where bought from the Gastronomic Empire, being obsolete vehicles. However, Felcheland and the Nutk tribesmen had nothing to opose them.

The Münzen mostly used their tanks to patrol the "Death Road", a road the Münzen builded to keep their line of forts communicated, but that had become the hunting grounds of the Nutks partisans and Felchelandeses forces, who began to fight a hit-and-run war.

the Nutks tribesmen came to have a religious fear to the Münzen tanks, saying they where magical, and often they runned before the tanks ever appeared. However, often was too late to the supply caravans and reinforcements to the forts of the frontline, who had already fall at Nutk hands.

I did this some days ago for :iconmel--kun: birthday, but only finished it now.

In relation to my contest of Modern Aiers, this weekend I will give the results: many thanks to everybody who participated!
