Yay! Finally finished this commission. Only take me a little less than a year to do it.

Yes, I suck like that, this one was to be done since October 2012! D:

And I didn't liked the result.

Sometimes, there are commissions that I take, that I think I can do -and enjoy doing-, that for one reason or other in the end I can't, can't get it right. Being a commission -somebody is paying for the drawing- one have to do what one is paid to do so.

This is one of these examples: Long, looooong ago, Stholm commissioned me to do a drawing of his modern/fantasy setting, in which you have humans discovering the underworld, populated by drows, nagas and some unspokeable horrors. And all of this become a military clash, as it seems humanity nuked "a bit too much" the surface, being a fight for survival. Somewhat when I heard about it, I don't know why, it get me a vibe of Metro 2033.

SO. He commissioned me to do a image of two human soldiers -with specific equipment, uniform and weapons- advancing firing, with some dead drow at their feet -don't bring swords to a gun-fight-, while, crouching from behind them, a Naga prepare to attack.

Now, I don't know why, I could NEVER get it right, one after other time sketching it. Or the drows or the humans or the naga where of the wrong size, or the anatomy was off, or perspective was off, or the guns gave problems, or firing didn't worked, and so and so and so on:

So finally after the... 7th sketch? -frustrated, I only tried once time a month or so - I finally decided I couldn't get the commission done:

but Stholm requested at least to see a sketch of it, so his loss of time -reason why normally I prefeer to be paid when the commission is done, in case such things happen, or a part after and other before, or other forms- here a show of the last, less crappy sketch. After that, he asked to see that sketch inked -with some changes-. Oh well, hope he like it. :I

Anyway, really sorry Stholm for the long wait.
