"By now, command should know: Loot, rape, kill and burn, right?" said lazily one of the mercenaries of Zenith Horizon, as she checked the chamber of her gun.

"It's not like they can make it an actual official policy, you know... it wouldn't be good for public relations if such information leaked" joked other as she walked out of a burning hut, placing into her pockets a handful of necklaces and rings.

"It isn't like these filthy villages have anything good on them, you know?" other said, as she returned from the wheeled APC, where she had just left two sacks of flour and a whole leg of ham."

Indeed, these illegal settlements didn't had much to show around: aside of the first houses they did with the load of the colonial ships when first settled, most of the buildings where of rather light material: the luxuries these colonists had seemed to be minimal.

A sudden noise made the three mercenaries drop the loot and pick their guns... but it had only been one of her comrades who for fun, kicked down the stairs an old piano, which bursted to pieces"

"Hey! A piano? these antiquities could cost some good money, you fool!"

  "I tthink it payed way better the fun I got out of that" she replied.

After the airstrikes on the village for the collective punishment, some squadrons had assigned kill zones, where they waited in ambush for the fleeing villagers, while other squads had to sweep into the village for a Kill and Destroy mission, rounding up hidding survivors for execution and ensuring the completely destruction of the village, burning it completely.

While some get ordered to herd a large group of villagers to a near dry river for the execution and others returned to the base, the four mercenaries decided to linger around: unlike some of their comrades who had to depended on the gunships for returning to the base, they had a wheeled APC at their dispose: an APC they expected to fill with loot before returning, of course.

While they were looting, they had discovered yet other hidding villager who had until then escaped the previous search squads: a beatiful young woman, rather small and with long black hair, who had been hidding behind the pig pens: they joked about seizing her and having her sold as a slave while kicking her... but then they realized she left herself to serve as a distraction for some younger children to escape, and they got furious.

They then cut her hair with their knives and stabbed her, leaving her to die in the pig pen...

because when ever such thing could come back at them, right?

As the body was about to drop to the floor, she dragged her to the side of the wall of a house which the fire had still barely touched. Three down and one more to go, she thought with anger, as she threw away the piano wire she had used, looking at her wounded fingers... it wasn't the most effective weapon, but her knife broke in the ribs of the other mercenary...

and much to her dissapointment, when she tried to use the rifles or sideguns of the mercenaries, they where of course blocked: they recognice the DNA of the user and only them could fire the guns. So she was down to using anything she had at hand, and the busted piano gave something...

"Luckily this bastard had a normal knife on her" she thought, picking it from her belt. She didn't had luck with the other two: Their pocketknives too were gene-locked.

She heard then some footsteps. The last one.

"Time for some payback" she said hatefully...
