“The mistress traitor and heretic had us around for her personal service and pleasure!”

“And what is more pleasant that a coup of tea? And I mean, a good tea, not THIS thing you girls called tea.”

“Sorry ma’am… but what I wanted to say with pleasure, I was referring to…”

“I’m old dear, not stupid. I know very well what my antecessor did with you girls! But you need to give me a reason to keep you. THAT thing you girls call tea surely ISN’T one of them.”

“Well.. we… can do the same as we did with our previous mistress?”

“I’m too old for that. My old bones can’t follow the pace of such three wonderful and young ladies!” said the priestess, laughing with a cackle. “Maybe one, maybe two. But three?”

“…well…” tried to say Lana, other of the slaves of the Temple of Doom. They didn’t wanted to return to some of the more menial tasks of the temple! “I know how to give foot massages?”

“Foot massages?”

“And backrubs!” said Sash'ara, the third of the personal slaves of the former High Sorceress.

“and backrubs? Excellent!” said the Priestess. “I will keep then you girls. After you learn how to make some tea, that’s it.”

Other of the possible “what if’s”, what if the senatorials win the Negeémi civil war. What if Shi’Nill survives, what if a Dahl’Arak doesn’t become the High Priestess of Doom, etc.

For the support of the traditionalists faction of the senatorials, the more clerical related, General Dahl’Arak promised them that the Temple of Doom will return to the priestesses of Negeé, rather than the Sorceresses. As such, a High Priestess of Doom will replace the High Sorceress.

Some thought as an option for this the daughter of the general Dahl’Arak, priestess Shi’Nill Dahl’Arak… however, some groups of the senatorials and among the priestesses of Negeé, some doubted if she will be serving the Goddess, or the interests of her own house…

So, as a compromise solution –as many of the conflicts where solved after the civil war-, the priestesses of Negeé choosed among them an old, innocuous priestess of a long forgotten and distant temple of Negeé in the far borders of the empire. Someone they expected lacked ambitions, and will have the decency of dying after some few decades, so they can choose their successor.
