Servant of Loq

The Servants of Loq from the Lowlands desert of the god of the sun, were once a revered sisterhood – oracles, sages, sought after throughout the region for their wisdom. Kings and warlords would seek their counsel, and it was said that their visions never failed to come to pass. -

Of course, not everyone appreciated this skill, especially if the vision was unfavorable, and the Servants soon had to learn to defend themselves – their talent with the thrown glaive became nearly as feared as their ability to peer into the future. Nevertheless, the Servants took an oath never to take a life except in self defense.

This was long ago.

More recently, following the mysterious death of the standing Grand Seer, a ruthless woman named Zemina took control of the sisterhood and murdered those who did not agree with its new direction.

Their monastery changed nearly overnight from a wonder of the Lowlands desert to little more than a den of cutthroats and bandits.

Half their coffers, filled with donations from grateful kingdoms, were quickly spent on garish jewelry and cosmetics, the other half on custom-crafted weaponry. Soon their wealth was not enough, and the corrupted Servants hungered for more – so they took it. No act of violence was too depraved, so long as there was profit and pleasure to be had.

The Servants of Loq, once an exclusive and prestigious sisterhood, now welcomed any reasonably fit girl with a healthy sense of depravity. Their numbers were many, for bloodlust was not a rare quality in the Lowlands.
