Presentation of the Thesis Proyect by Shabazik

"Step down from there. We did all to have a sinister reputation among these people." Hanster Lo'Kee, the guide, said to the scholar.

"Oh, don't be so serious!" answered with a smile Ved'Lith Meeren, Arcane Anthropologist of the University of Negeé. Finally, she had the resources and support for her expedition, and she wanted to enjoy it.

"They were defeated and conquered by dangerous, terrible enemies. They have at least that going on for them, so don't ruin it for them. Nobody wants to be conquered by buffoons"

"I'm no buffoon!"

"Then why are we travelling on the middle of the day?" the guide said, bothered. She didn't get why this scholar was so happy being in the surface, specially after how hard was for her to grow used to the surface and that bottomless well that's the sky... and now she seemed to even enjoy it!!

"There's a Troll guarding this bridge, at nights!" Ved'Lith said. "I heard it from the locals -so wanted to avoid that!"

The Acolyte of Negeé, tasked guiding and escorting the scholar, rolled her eyes.

"OF COURSE I know that there's a troll. She pays Negeémiliel a small tax for tolling it, and she repairs it as well. Even more, I know her personally: she normally goes to drink at the inn in our base at noon! You know, to stay out of the sun, like any creature with some common sense. If you asked beforehand, I could have told you that!"

"Bah. If I'm going to be a surface explorer, I want the whole experience! Not only staying in safety in our underground outposts near the surface!!
Surface people do surface-people-stuff on the surface during day!"

"Day it's stupid.

What are we doing here, anyway?" asked the guide. Really, if they expected her to guide this scholar somewhere, they should give her the complete information, and not only some tiny bits here and there.

"Well, I'm on an investigation trip for my thesis, to study the local residents -the Hebonnor mountain elves and some of the Galaw orc tribes!-, and their magic users, to learn how their magic work, and why drow maná manipulation grow so weaker in the surface...

So we are now going to a Mountain Elven settlement!"

"That's hardly a good idea" growled Hanster. "Conquered or not, many of the mountain clans doesn't accept the Negeémi drow rule, and there are plenty of bandits out there. And aside of some monsters who pay taxes to us, there are others who don't recognice either the hegemony of Negeémiliel. As a guide, I would advice against this venture of going to a Mountain Elven village. It's dangerous, at least with such a small escort"

Yeah, thought Ved'Lith... but she wasn't assigned THAT many resources, to bring a whole patrol with them!

"Don't worry!" she said. "We are going to a quite Drow-friendly village! Even more, one that you know -reason why I requested for you to your commanding officer!!-"

"What you mean?" Hanster asked.

"The village it's called the Gygfran Nyth... or something like that, -GAH!- Hebonnor names roll so difficulty on my tongue!
Anyway, I choose this village, because it have a school -that teached magic!-, but as well, because because of the stories around it, it raised a drow!

Can you imagine that? Mountain Elven barbarians, rising a DROW! Crazy, no?"

"Yeah. Crazy" mumbled Hanster. She wasn't going to say to the crazy scholar she actually knew said drow, and that drow used her cousins to make it look like her Aunt -captain of the Acolytes- wanted to contact some spies on that damned settlement, serving instead as personal maildrow in a fool's errant.

"...So, in that village they have magic, they raised a drow... AND it's the property of a drow House, the House of Char’Isstra!!
It's a safe place, I tell you, and an excelent place to begin my investigation!"

She didn't told her guide, that she had choose as well this village not only for the amazing rumors... but because of her drow owner, Hasstin Char'Isstra.

A young Acolyte of Negeé, Hasstin Char'Isstra had dissapeared during the Drow-Hebonnor War -at the same time her lost friend, Briiza Ralochs... and after being dissapeared for so long, suddendly she reapeared... and without contacting her unit or friends, she quickly returned to the surface...

So this could be her better bet to try to find out Briiza! Or any news regarding her!
