Grolbaka: (Graphic entry, modern) 375ms: (Graphic entry, fantasy)
-First Place for the awesome awesomer awesomenes:
This entry of Estra-sh shows a wonderful image with an Ozcura getting into troubkes, but you have the full rooster of classical fantasy creatures... and some of their interactions they have. The drawing is great, but too is the little tid-bit of what was Ozcura rule of law, before it!
- Drawings/illustrations/paintings/graphic work in general:
BeermanfromFreo came out of nowhere with a surprise entry, with some lovely beercrafting knight and his new Orcpelier lady!
-Narrative
There was quite difficulties picking this one up! Among my "finalists" was Madasajo92's poor, poor confessor having to deal with converted ozcura shenanigans, the distrustful old elves mages of Larqven, the grumbling old elf of Astranacus and Lygen1000's clone elves... in the end I went for:
Madasajo92's unlucky Dumian priest! - Best of... ...Fantasy!
When you have amazons fertility rituals, drows and so on, the less you expect are some rambly old elves going around with their prejudgements! So was an interesting reversal!
... Modern! NO IMAGE BECAUSE IT'S IN PIXIV AHHHH
Grolbaka's entry with the Doroz Low Elf Imtheja was on it's own about 36 images (and he did even more, not uploaded) of daily life in 3D renders, which where absolutely lovely. If you have a Pixiv, I invite to see it! His username is Grolbaka and the name of entry is Under Human Rule!
... Sci-Fi!
The story of Lygen1000 tells us about the Aenian or cloned elves, and their excitement for the arrival of new clones!
EDIT 2: FINISHED! In process of being judged!
EDIT: EXTENDED TIME TO THE 29 JANUARY 2024!!
Some years back, I had a tradition of doing some thematic contests related to the World of Aiers or the Nebula of Ots with the date of 29 November, as a sneaky way to get birthday gifts for that was the day of my birthday. XD
But as I had failed afterwards to provide the last winner with his prize -sorry ! Done back for my 30 years, and then, out of shame, I stopped holding such contests -Shame! Shame!-, but was surprised that even people that I had left down like that before asked me in the last days of octobers about the return of the Aiers Contests. So, we talked a bit and had an idea... but between making a cover drawing and posting about it -november have been hard!-, november is almost gone!
So, rather than for the 29 of November, contest would be for EDIT : 29 January 2024!

CONTEST - UNDER HUMAN RULE
In the World of Aiers, the humans, that arrived from beyond during the Sky Age, came to be rulers of Aiers, after the Wars of the Power and the Cataclysm. But as slowly but surely humans realms, kingdoms, nations and empires rose to power, it didn't meant simply the extinction of non-humans.
The idea of this contest is to explore the live of non-humans under human rule.
Integration? The story of an Orc becoming an Orcpelier, an orc mercenary under human rule? Resistance? The last demons of their kind, trying to hold to the remnants of destroyed magic and a world that wasn't anymore, fighting to the bitter end? Goblins becoming "brownies", domestic goblins in a human house? Ozcuras trying and failing to adapt to human customs, or instead others who decide to challenge them, as an elf frolicking in the middle of a city? living in the marginalized Elferies, or instead how non-humans became part of the elites? Centered in the times of the "Fantasy Age", or "Modern Aiers", after the Cataclysm that marked the end of the fantasy age? or what about the Space Age, in the Nebula of Ots, where elves too can use cloning to try to make their own elven worlds?
The theme of the contest is under human rule. But you can decide how that is, and what sort of story, drawing or render you can do! You can make your own original character, characters, nations, factions and such, BUT they must be set in Aiers. While you can use some of your own existing creations from elsewhere, these must be adapted to Aiers and the context of the Contest, so please NOT simply dimension hoping, multi-dimensions and such (unless you are versed enough in Aiers to know what really are the "Demons" of Aiers... and the "Holy Relics"!)
Entries to the Contest Each person can enter as many entries they want, and these entries can be either graphical (traditional and digital drawings, artisan crafts, photos, mixed media photomanipulations, comics, Digital renders, etc) or narrative (stories, texts, poems, etc). There is no limit to the content -except of course, of same limits of deviantart.- Personally, I like the mix of graphic + narrative, as seen in most of my gallery... but each one have his own style! The entries MUST be published in a public website. To make an entry, you must post a link to the entry to this deviation, and I will add there the links of the existing entries. The entry must be a new work, done for this contest. Time The contest will run from the 23 November 2023 to the 29 December 2023 (but normally I hold these things thinking in my birthday on the 29 November -35 years!- but I took too long to decide and post the contest! But would be awesome to see some entries by then!) Winners, judges and prizes I'm going to give as prizes drawing requests -under the same restrictions that the commissions-! -yay!- and as well, features in journals. -I'm so, so cheap!-. To determine the winners, I will be despotic, and I will be the only one to determine the winners. I will do this instead of polls, votes and juries. There will be prizes for: -First Place for the awesome awesomer awesomeness. As I'm the judge, I'm afraid I'm subjective. This prize can be digitally coloured, or manually, if the winner prefeer over lineart -Drawings/illustrations/paintings/graphic work in general For the graphic entry I think is the better from the completely subjetive point that is my judgement. Prize: drawing! -Narrative for the best narrative -written as a story of it's own, under an image or in comic-, again, from my subjective point of view. Prize: drawing! - Best of... ... Fantasy! ... Modern! ... Sci-Fi! Attention! An entry can win more than one prize so they can be acumulative. The time has come to join the endless ranks of the E-Beggers, demanding money for free on the internet!
https://www.patreon.com/shabazik
I joke, I'm not desperate for money neither have a grieving cause: basically, did it only because people was asking.
Personally I don't believe much in paywalls, so I doubt I will be doing Patreon exclusives and such... but do you like my work enough to want to support further? I guess I can use this as a tip jar.
Greetings! Shabazik.
(I got as well a Twittah and a Pixiv, because after Eclipse I had been looking for alternatives)
Hello dear friends and watchers! As I have said, despite not liking deviantArt Eclipse I will NOT leave deviantArt. But made me think to explore some of the alternates. Today I began to play a bit with that, and while experimental, here are some other places where you can follow my art.
-In part I don't like Eclipse because of the unwanted changes... learning new sites? It's quite difficult-
ARTSTATION: https://www.artstation.com/shabazik
It wasn't that easy to create a site! Probably will try to use it for it's intended use: as a portfolio for my more appreciated artwork, to show off and not being worried for showing something I shouldn't had!
TWITTER: https://twitter.com/shabazik
I have seen many artists work there... but I have to recognise, I'm always so suspicious of all the sh*tstorms I have seen from there! Of course, this platform isn't for long stories going around with the drawings... still have to find an option for that! I'm not totally on the clear if it's a place for mature content or not? I think it is, but people laughs at that notion?
PIXIV https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/6193113
I actually did this one YEARS ago. Mostly to explore the weird, weird world of Pixiv. But never quite used it back in the day, for I'm afraid I don't know Japanese at all. But as it have a description limit of 3.000 characters and quite an acceptance for mature content, it may be a good option for such sort of themes.
Do you know any other good, interesting option to take into consideration? And do you have some other accounts outside of DeviantArt, to catch up with you? Greetings from the austral lands of the end of the world!
In these 10 years and couple of months in deviantArt, my dA account had 3,864,088 pageviews in total. Some of the old stats for the pageviews of past years are already broken (booh!), which is a shame as I wanted to compare, but in 2020: (To this day) Total: 141,744.
I had 92 journals and 4,053 deviations, which were viewed 18,227,618 times. This statistic doesn't count in consideration the scraps of the scrapbook, which I use a lot, as I have 3,659 scraps... and who knows how many times they were viewed. I would guess less in general, but I know the most viewed piece I have in dA is an horrible old scrap with bad quality and it baffles to this day how it reached 40,161 views. And no, I'm not linking that one because it's embarrassing xD
I watch 318 deviants, while 14,186 deviants watch Shabazik. Of these, my wild guess is that... 30 or so are actual people, so I'm amazed at that.
Thanks for your time visiting my creations!
Overall, my deviations received 139,381 comments and were added to deviants' favourites 511,387 times -again no idea if it count's scraps, but I guess... no?-, while I made 104,348 comments, about 28 comments per day since joining DeviantArt. Back in the day I answered a lot more, but the last years while I read and love every comment -loved this community aspect of dA-, there's always less and less time to answer them... As sometimes, if it comes between doing drawings and stories and answering comments, I prefer drawing... even as I love the comments!
This means that I received 13 comments for every 10 that they gave.
COMMENTS:
The deviation with the most comments is Silicon Lifeform with 326 comments. Like that scraps with so many views that I refuse to link in terms of quality, this other one as well annoys me a bit, as the whole bulk of these 326 comments were two persons who began roleplaying. Roleplaying is awesome, I love roleplaying as well, but: get a room! (joking!)
The "real" one with more comments is deviantArt Female Mooks with 306 comments:
They are followed by 2 of my Where's Wally? fanart pieces, Castle Raid - Where is Wally?! with 259 and Welcome to the Dustlands - Where is Wally? with 233.
The 5th most commented is a piece from the good old Goelathian War in the dA Sector back in 2014, which was fun -until all the drama- roleplay war set in my sci-fi universe between various artists -all thanks to the devious genious of The Hardships of being a Prisoner of War had 181 comments:
FAVORITES:
The most favourited one is A Battle for the Ages, with 803 favourites. That one was quite a surprise how well received it was, as was more a one shoot, random idea I had while thinking of Medieval Manuscripts and their bizarre relation with Snails:
This in turn replaced the city of Alfdreim who had a short reign in 2019 with 722 favorites:
Very recently, the 3rd most faved piece is Goblin Slayer with 657 favorites. Normally I don't do fan-arts... so I'm surprised how quick and well that went!
For years, the ones contesting for the more favorited one were Power Armor BJA-20A and Battle Succubus Novice with 587 and 584 favorites each one:
I have to say, I'm quite happy and surprised with the internet thought, that none of the most 5 more favorited pieces of my gallery were fetish art. I wouldn't say this is a fetish focused gallery... Mostly because I lack any sort of focus, but it was a nice surprise, as I don't see myself as a fetish artist -but man, I do explore some weird, limited, limited niches!-
VIEWS:
From the main gallery -as I ignore what would be the case with the Scrapbook-, The most viewed deviation is Clone soldier and Shiks with 40,680 views: a true veteran of the gallery, with almost 10 years:
Old dA stats didn't provided a handy and easy to find and rank views-ranking... but my guess is the next ones may have only half as much views. Maybe the next one is this, with some 28,858 views: The end of an Arena's fighter career (NSFW warning!).
In general, I feel like my pieces aren't that viewed or faved... as I tend to quickly bury them, with other stuff on top of it!
37 favourites were given for every 10 comments.
ACTIVITY
Every 0.9 days I uploaded a new deviation. Counting with the scraps, that I think are about 0.8 each day, that makes about an average of about 1.7 each day I think.
According to dA, it's usually on a Sunday, when 689 (17%) of deviations were submitted. This is followed close by Saturday (642) and Friday (577). During weekdays, I was less active, but not so much so: Monday (504), Tuesday (551), Wednesday (551) and Thursday (539). Beginning of the week was the drop of posted art!
The busiest month was April 2014 when 80 (2%) deviations were submitted. Normal months are near 25-30 uploads. Busy months may see that almost double!
I don't know why, but it seems normally I have a pick of drawing time in the first semester of the year -around March and April- and the second semester -around October- normally dropping -sometimes, by a lot- activity in August and November-December.
I have no idea why. In some specific cases, yes, but in others I ignore the cause.
The majority of deviations are submitted to the traditional gallery (2495), while the favourite category was drawings > fantasy with 2111 deviations.
SOME GENERAL STATS:
Comments per deviation: 34
Favourites per deviation: 126
Views per deviation: 4,497
Comments per day: 37
Favourites per day: 137
Deviation views per day: 4891
Pageviews per day: 1037
That's all for now folks!
Let's hope this Eclipse doesn't bring the Apocalypse to this site!
Greetings, and take care of yourself in these troubling times -and I mean of something far more serious than the Eclipse of dA-
Goodbye!
from the Austral Lands of Chile
