Battle Nuns

"Onward Sisters! The Devil doesn't wait!" barked the Mother of the Chapter of St. Clara from the Order of St. Creole to her battle sisters.

The Advance of the Christianity over Aiers was a difficult work, that was done slowly upon the centuries:

The christianitation worked both by the sword and the cross, and as Christianism struggled to continue it's expansion, in the christianized territories existed as wel the problem of the differences between the hierarchies of the churches -the Karentian Church and the Unlic Church, as principal exponents-, heressies and the discussion between the primacy in christian human society of the temporal or religious powers.

It was in part due these conflicts among christianity, that resulted in the Church taking oportunity in the apparition of some new creatures in Aiers, to secure their sphere of influence: These unknown creatures they will call "demons".

These "Demons", seeing as well an oportunity in the malcontent of the non-humans against the human expansion, decided to took as well the name it was given to them, for themselves.

In the expansion of Christianity by the Sword, the Christians will found several Military Orders. Among them, was the Order of Nortender:

One of their longest campaigns of convertion was against the Amazons of the Bay of Hieyokscream, in the North of Polforia, but after 40 years of constant war, they where able to subyugate the proud nation of warriors into the Christianity -and more important, under the order of Nortender-

However, when facing the "demons" -that the church named in that way, and they where happy to fulfill the role for their own political agenda- as well their "corruption", the demonic religion, they quickly found to be, somewhat short of manpower:

And having under their domains, a nation full of women with a strong warrior tradition, they took the oportunity:

If the church already made possible for a priest to be as well a soldier, they blended some more their interpretations, and created the "Order of the Holy Sword of Santa Croel":

and in their ranks served as nuns, blacksmiths, soldiers and traders, the former Amazons of Hieyokscream....

As well happened in the Military Order of Northender and their warrior priests, the battle nuns wheren't specially holy, pious, or something like that, and normally the Knights where as well noble-woman, without education, and less a religious vocation, but a excelent hability to kill infidels, "demons" and heretics.

The fenomenon of Battle Nuns was from the Nortender Church/Heressy, and found in Polforia and Hieyokscream, meanwhile it would be seen as an oddity in the Five Kingdoms of the Northwest.
