Capitulation

"Here is my blade" said Ver'acea Paen'Dhirra, as she gave her blade to Colonel Dahl'Arak, formally surrendering the last significative Populist Faction pocket of resistence in the city, in the once beautiful Festivals Square in front of the Temple of Doom, that had become instead a destroyed battlefield:

For near seventy cycles¹, the Senatorial forces that entrenched themselves in the Temple of Doom had to face a serie of furious assaults from part of the Populist Faction and the Cult of the Flower: After the first frontal assaults failed, the sieging forces proceeded to try to block the citadel of the Temple of Doom, destroying the buildings around the Festivals Square to build barricades, and while more attacks where done to the fortified temple, assault trenches where being digged.

However, with General Dahl'Arak aproaching the city along with her armies, and having been unnable to control all the doors to keep her out of the city, the forces of the Cult of the Flower disbanded, many joining the mobs that where sacking the city while acolytes fought each other.

Soon, only pockets of resistence from the Populist party remained, and when the relief force of Colonel Dahl'Arak arrived at the gates of the Temple of Doom, they only found some stragglers in their path, up until to the Festivals Square.

There, a company of acolytes of the Populist Faction was keeping their possitions to cut down from the rest of the city the Citadel of the Temple of Doom:

However, outnumber and with their cause all but lost, as all their main leaders where killed, incapacited or killed in the opening moves of the Senatorial faction coup d'etat, Ver'acea Paen'Dhirra, daughter of the High Sorceress and commander of the populists, decided to surrender her forces at their acolital enemies, as by then the Populists survivers where drearing more the chaos and sacking of the mobs of commoners and slaves, than their senatorial enemies.

"I expected you to be on the southern borders of the Empire, keeping the borders safe from the Sia'Perian" Ver'acea said then to the Colonel Rhea Dahl'Arak.

"I didn't expected it either" Rhea said. While daughter of General Dahl'Arak, and a member of the Senatorial Faction, she did have some sympaties for the Populist faction. "But somebody have to keep Negeémiliel safe."

Ver'acea stood in front of her, with her sword in her hands, offering it to Rhea Dahl'Arak.

"You better keep it" Rhea said. "We will solve later your problems with the current government of our nation. For now, I need every acolyte I have to restore order in Negeémiliel, so order your troops to march along mine. We have some looters to crush, and you girls where the ones to have the bad idea to arm them, so you are going to help fix this mess"

As it was said, it was done, and the Populist faction acolytes that where taken prisoners, where to march each of them between three senatorial faction acolytes, as they marched against the plunderers, reavers and sackers that where roaming free on the city for days now."

¹: A Cycle is the unit of time measure used in Negeémiliel and other drow cities: living in a sunless place, they don't measure time in days and nights. A Cycle is around 100 minutes: So since the Senatorial Faction irrumped in the Temple of Doom and key structures and places in Negeémiliel, until the arrival of the general Dahl'Arak about 5 days happened.

With the Populist cause defeated, the acolytes had to control the situation of the malcontent commoners and slaves: and while some of the Populist commanders had as intentions and used commoners to try to achieve their political goals, they feared as much as the senatorials the armed mob of the poors and the landless, that had risen due the oportunity.

Having end the fight between the acolytes, a martial law was impossed, and in only in about nine cycles, the city would be again firmly on the hands of the Citizens, Acolytes of Negeé, and under the rule of the Senatorial Faction and General Danieh'le Dahl'Arak.
