Sorry...

"May!!" said Thaergrud with a severe tone

The little drow girl tried to escape, stealthy, away from the familiar house. But her mother was standing in the door.

“Maylara Maltree!” said the mountain elven woman, looking down to her adoptive daughter. “Come here right now!”

Discoveres, May sighed, and followed her mom.

“I suppose you can explain what happened here!” said Thaergrud, once they reached the kitchen, pointing to the jar of cookies, half empty and cracked, on the floor.

May had tried to steal some cookies from it, but her mom –to precisely avoid that- had put the jar high in the cupboard… and while she climbed without problems the furniture to reach the sugary treasure, she left the cookie jar in a dangerous position… and it sort of fell to the ground.

“Sorry” muttered Maylara.

“Saying sorry, it’s not enough!” said Thaergrud. “You have to pay for your crimes!”

Maylara felt bad, and wondered what could be the punishment…

“So, if you ate the cookies… We will need to bake some new ones!” said Thaergrud, changing her frowned face to a smile. “But you must promise, that you will not do it again!”

“yes mom!” said Maylara smiling, as she hurried to get the bowls to make some more cookies…
